See You In Las Vegas, USA for the 13th Congress of the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL) 27-31 May 2018!
ISSFAL is pleased to invite you to Las Vegas for the 2018 Biennial Congress. Las Vegas is the 28th most populated city in the United States and is an internationally renowned city known for its gambling, shopping, fine dining, entertainment and nightlife as well as its excellent location close to major United States natural parks and wonders. Las Vegas is a top three destination in the United States for business conventions and ranks as one of the world’s most visited tourist destinations.
From about 1950 to the early 1980s, the “mob” controlled most of the resorts and hotels located on the Vegas Strip. During this time, mobsters helped build the Sahara, the Sands, the New Frontier and the Riviera Casinos and Hotels. In 1946, mobster Bugsy Siegel opened the famous Flamingo Hotel and tourists flocked to this resort drawn by legendary performers such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Elvis Presley! Today, millions of visitors including families travel to Las Vegas to take in the sights, sounds and scenes of this spectacular city that never sleeps.
The location of Las Vegas will give delegates the opportunity to take day trips to both the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam or take short flights to visit the West Coast of the United States. More than 30 airlines provide scheduled service to and from McCarran International Airport (LAS) from more than 145 destinations around the world.
